With reference to your letter No: 39663/1904

of the 14th December 1904, with enclosures, on the

subject of Military Lands at Syuan Hill, Hong Kong, I

am commanded by the Army Council to acquaint you, for

the information of Mr. Secretary Lyttelton, that it is

noted that the local Military Authorities have been put

in exclusive possession of the land in question.

I am to state that a copy of your letter under

reply, together with the enclosures thereto, has been

communicated to the Officer who is proceeding to Hong

Kong to make enquiry locally into outstanding land

questions, and that it is proposed by the Army Council

to defer the consideration of this matter pending the

receipt of this Officer's report.
